The Wildlife Museum project began in 1991 when the Blaine Theater building was donated by Blaine Bank of Montana. The home of the Wildlife Museum is located in Chinook’s downtown business district. This one-of-a-kind facility display's Montana State’s wildlife species in their natural habitat. The facility includes a gift shop featuring the work of many Montana artists, carvers and taxidermists. The role the State’s various animal species played in the history of Montana is brought to life through permanent exhibits, displays, historic narrations and sound effects.
ABOUT THE MUSEUM

The Wildlife Museum is marked as a unique attraction nestled among an abundance of historical sites such as the Blaine County Museum and the Bear Paw Battlefield, located just 20 miles south of Chinook.
The museum has a tremendous amount of support from the community of Chinook and the surrounding areas. With a determined Board of Directors, most of the renovations have been completed on the building themselves. Many mounted wildlife specimens have been acquired and are now on display for the public to enjoy. Local fund-raisers are held annually and supporters are able to adopt animals that are placed in the permanent exhibits to assist in costs of the project.
The Board has held numerous open house events over the years to offer the public a chance to see the progress on the extensive renovation of the building and to see the collection of mounted animals and birds. Now available for viewing, the museum is a stunning sight for everyone who enters Montana's premier Wildlife contributor.
